Back in late 2013, my daughter, who was in high school, and daughter-in-law, were interested in starting their own agency. They have always been very interested in what I do and wanted to do it for themselves. Fantastic, I know how to do that!

Tiki Room Travel was born!

After a few weeks of work, a website was created and populated, all was ready to go. Social media accounts, blog posts, and everything else needed were done. LLC papers were filed with the state, a CLIA account was registered, we registered with Disney, and we were official! Tiki Room Travel was launched to the public on April 29, 2014, and I stepped away.

Tiki Bird Travel limped along for about a year. They booked one trip, a friend of a friend, and brought in about $125 total the first year.

Everyone wants to be a Disney Travel agent, until they realize it is just like any other job, it requires WORK!

It was an abject failure. I spent time and money launching the business and it failed miserably. I can’t blame them, they really needed much more help than I provided.

The LLC was dissolved and the website shuttered in 2015.
